Our Pacalaca alpaca story

Thanks for stopping by!

We welcomed our first alpacas at Pacalaca Farm in 2019, when three arrived to be part of our farm family.

We loved their personalities and antics so much, that we got three more and decided that we better find a way to share our alpacas and the great products that come from their fibre.

As of the start of 2026, we've grown to 26 alpacas - whites, grays, blacks, browns and fawns - with many personalities. We're expecting six more babies in May and June this year!

There’s nothing like alpaca socks to give some love to your feet. And it’s not just your feet. We find the warmth and the comfort of alpaca socks helps make your whole body a lot happier. We now rarely wear any other type of socks.

We have about 50 acres, but much of it is the ravine through which a creek runs, and a hardwood bush. The fields we have aren't great for the usual crops grown in our area, but they are quite fine for hay and to graze animals like alpacas.

A life filled with beautiful fibre

We've learned an immense amount about alpaca fibre, and nothing makes us happier than being elbows deep in a beautiful fleece. Cailin and John, the owners of the farm, have taken the provincial alpaca classer course and now have a scientific and artistic appreciation of alpaca.

Our product mix has evolved as we've learned more and we now have a diversity of alpaca fibre grades (there are six!) from alpacas in our herd. We sell many alpaca products to make use of all of those different grades of fibre. Check out our products to see what we've been up to.

Our products are all made in Canada, making use of the small number of mills in the country, as well as relying on some great fibre artists who hand or machine knit some of our products.

Check back regularly for updates on alpaca antics and promotions on our socks. Subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of this page so we can keep in touch.
