Welcome baby Grogu

Our first cria has arrived!

We've been waiting and waiting for our first baby to be born at Pacalaca Farm and it was a surprise when it finally arrived!

Chapa, our beautiful multi-fawn coloured female, with excellent quality fibre, had a boy, and how cute is he?

We've decided that this year we'd base the naming of our babies on characters from the Mandalorian (no surprise there from this Star Wars crazy family), and who else but Grogu could we use as the first name?

Grogu's mom Chapa started to show some signs of having a baby at about 11 a.m. By 11:15 it was obvious a baby was coming, and soon.

Baby Grogu was born by 11:45 a.m., an easy delivery for our first. Thanks first-time mama Chapa!

Within an hour he was up and staggering around on his spindly legs, and with another hour he'd found his mom's udder and was drinking away.

He's been a curious, energetic happy guy in the two weeks since, motoring around at top speed as he tests his legs, bunting the various Auntie Alpacas also in the field and overwhelming everyone with his cuteness.
